Day 1 (May 14 - Sunday)
The first day of my trip went rather smoothly. I drove up to Atlanta with Rachel,
mom, and dad, and we got to the airport in plenty of time. I said goodbye before
I went into the airport, and it took me about 45 minutes to get through check-in,
security, and getting all the way to terminal E. While we waited for the plane,
I met some of the other GT students who were also making the trip. One of my goals
for this trip is to break out of my routine and make new friends, and a lot of
the people I met were really cool.
The British Airways plane ride was very nice. Each seat had a video screen implanted
in the seat ahead of you, and they played movies and tv shows. They gave you a
blanket, socks, and a facemask for sleeping. The meals were kinda weird because
they served dinner around 8:30pm and breakfast around 1:30am (due to the time
changes, I guess). Some of the guys didn't sleep at all, but I got about 2 hours
of shut-eye, which was nice.
I wish I had something of more interest to tell you, but it was pretty uneventful.
I read a lot of my book to pass the time, and we made the 8 hour trip to London
fairly easily.
